Hello!
I am wanting to get into reading fantasy but a lot of popular reads I see contain a whole lot of smut and that’s not really my cup of tea.
I am looking for books with anything related to the following; strong female leads, surprise twists, faeries, witches, magic, spooky encounters and maybe even something that’ll make me cry (happy or sad tears I have no preference).
Trying to re-enter fantasy to help heal my inner child, growing up I read books such as; Tinker Bell, Warrior Cats, The Alchemist, The Name of This Book is Secret. If you have any recommendations I would greatly appreciate them!!

If you’re open to middle grade, I *highly* recommend Nevermoor by Jessica Townsend
I think the Bardot collection would be a great fit for what you’re looking for.
If you liked Warrior Cats as a kid and are fine with reading Middle Grade now I’d recommend reading Wings of Fire. It’s a book series written by one of the authors in the Erin Hunter team which is from the point of view of dragons. Its both cute and charming and occasionally dark and focuses on a war between several species of dragons due a battle over a throne between 3 sisters. There’s certainly emotional moments and mysterious magic in this series. Might be worth checking out!
