I’m currently dealing with chronic illness and feeling a lot of anger around it. I find it cathartic to read about characters who get consumed by their anger. Anything like revenge plots, characters who lash out from a place of anger, female rage stories, etc.
Preferably fantasy or sci-fi, but I’m open to other genres, particularly if there’s an interesting setting. No horror

Tomorrow series by John Marsden does this quite well particularly in the later books in the series. Not fantasy or sci-fi but I’d say the later instalments of the series would be exactly what you’re looking for 🙂
