Mayhaps I have odd coping mechanisms, but I find generally comforted and understood when reading books that demolish the reader emotionally.
“No longer human” by Osamu Dazai is an example of my ideal *comfort* book. But to be honest, it can also have horror, and general surrealism traits. I like those too.
Other examples are “Maggie pretty money eyes” and “I have no mouth and I must scream” by Harlan Ellison
Keywords: nightmares and dreams, inner turmoil and lust for life, daydreaming and psychosis.
