    Hi everyone,

To explain my situation; I’m a high schooler who has gotten severely into reading. And tomorrow I’m going to pick up a copy of animal farm from my local book store having just learnt about the Russian revolution, so it interests me. Anyways, I am the kind of person who finds reading texts like Little Women and the Great Gatsby a bit boring/complex. However, I really like the concept of animal farm and truly want to enjoy it. Will reading a graphic novel of it diminish the true experience; ie Orwell’s writing/and his phrases? I genuinely don’t know, because I like pictures and illustrations because they make it so much easier to understand, rather than searching up the meaning of something, or reading the chapter summary after I’m done with the chapter. But then again, I really wanna read the original. I know it’s a short book but still wanted to post here. Please weigh in your thoughts and suggestions for me! I’ll appreciate it greatly!

If you want to read the original, read the original. It’s very short – significantly shorter than *The Great Gatsby* and far shorter than *Little Women* – and Orwell’s writing style is unadorned and his vocabulary very simple. I don’t think you’ll have any trouble with it.
