Is it just me or does it seem very obvious that at one point during an earlier draft for the book Mark ate own his arm to survive?
As I was reading it I was almost positive they were going to reveal that he had done everything in the book missing one arm because he in fact ate it.
Here is why:
1) he outright suggested that as an option early in the book.
2) they alluded to it, or possibly rewrote the scene where he loses his arm, when he tears it open after the airlock explodes.
3) They all allude to it again at the end talking about slashing his hand open to fly like Iron Man.
4) it would have been an amazing twist and made the ending way more interesting.
