Hey, I’m looking for a queer fantasy/sci-fi audiobook with good banter.
*Audio is the main way I consume books. But if you really know a perfect book that doesn’t exist in audio version, don’t hold back on recommending it anyways.
*What queer am I looking for, listed according to preference:
1. Sapphic (bi, pan, gay…)
2. Bi/pan guy
3. Anything else queer
*Adult, not YA (at least not books that feel very YA, I know there are probably gray zones.)
*I prefer a female lead or including (a) female side character(s) that gets quite some ‘screentime’.
*Bonus points if it’s a heist novel.
*Languages: Preferably English, then Dutch. If the book is really that amazing I might give French a try.
Extra info: I recently listened to ‘The Jasmine Throne’ from Jasmine Suri. I enjoyed it, but it didn’t convince me enough to go for book 2. It was an adult book, fantasy, a sapphic relationship, some intrigue, a small plot twist… I started to wonder what I was missing, why didn’t this book blow me away? And one of the first things I thought about was: great banter. I love great banter, that’s what can make books/movies/series so much fun.
I loved ‘Lies of Locke Lamora’, tv series wise I completely eat up ‘Good Omens’ and ‘Our flag means death’. Definitely in these last 2, the main fun is provided by the conversations between the characters, less the action that is happening.
