Looking for books on diseases similar to The Great Influenza by John M Barry, I’m fine with more historical-side pieces too like The Walking Corpse, but preferably something that tackles the disease (in a biological sense )itself rather than its effects on society
Any disease is fine with exception of bubonic plague, AIDS and TB, preferably looking for Ebola, Syphilis and leprosy. Tysm ! 😀

Quétel, *History of Syphilis*.
Crisis in the Red Zone by Richard Preston! It’s about the 2013 Ebola epidemic!
He also wrote The Hot Zone, which is about the first Ebola epidemic and it’s origins.
“Spillover” is an interesting book on some emerging zoonotic diseases
