Hi all. 34m from Northern Ireland here. Have been a late bloomer with reading, not getting into things since my late twenties. Fiction is my thing. Here’s the problem, I think I may have some undiagnosed Attention disorder or concentration thing because if a book doesn’t grip me within the first 2-3 chapters, I’m done. Also, the print has to be spaced out nicely, and I’m done with big words and sentences sounding like Shakespeare just for the heck of it. I love Louisiana, Arizona, Texas, and even Mexico vibes. Last few book I completed was Mexican Gothic and it was meh 6/10. Guess I’m just looking for a book that I can read and I just get lost in it from the off. Also, just love writing that just “says what they’re seeing”, no fancy stuff, just a straight up story! Thanks for any recommendations!

    1. Divine Secrets of the ya ya sisterhood, to kill a mockingbird are two books that I’ve read more than once and set in the Deep South.
