Hello everybody.
I’m in need of four very specific series/books I’d like to read.
Before explaining what I want to read in details I have to make some clarifications about the common characteristics that I’d like these readings to have:
* If it’s series then I’d prefer it to be already finished, because I like to read all books in one go
* All these books must be fantasy and specifically more mature fantasy, so dark or adult fantasy, not young adult stuff.
* (OPTIONAL) I prefer books set in a completely invented world, but if you have something that corresponds to what I’m looking for and it’s set in our world it’s okay, I’ll read it anyway as long it’s good.
Now let me proceed to explain to what kind of books I’d like to read:
* A fantasy about humanity fighting against a legion of monsters. It may be a legion of demons, an army of undead, continuous assault from unnatural beasts, otherworldly creatures, vampires, ecc… I don’t care; the important thing is that the difficult conflict for survival against this inhuman threat is at the center of the story. Think something like the Drenai Saga from Gemmell, but instead of human armies against each other it’s human army vs legion of doom.
* A fantasy where the protagonist fights, explores and tries to survive in a grim, hostile and almost alien land where every corners can hide hideous monsters and deadly traps. Think something like Demon/Dark Souls or King’s Field, but in the form of a book.
* A post-apocalyptic fantasy. Civilizations collapsed, humanity is on the edge of extinction, nature and strange creatures are reclaiming the earth, the usual stuff but in a fantasy world.
* A fantasy about archeology. The discovery of an ancient lost civilization and the study of how said civilization had fallen are the core of the narrative.
I know I’m asking a lot of stuff, but if you can give me some advice on these readings you’ll have my eternal gratitude.
