there are only a handful of books that i have tried rereading, by handful i mean just two, Mystic River by Dennis Lehane and Midnight’s Children by Salman Rushdie. I read these books the first time almost a decade ago, and since then i’ve been telling people how frikking good these two are, how these are my absolute favorite books and even used to force my friends to read them and recommended them on dates and so and so. Now a few months back i tried to reread them both and DNFed, yes, i couldn’t finish, i couldn’t go past the first 50 pages. i don’t know what happened, but the magic that was there when i first read them was missing, Now I’m questioning my choices by calling them my favorite books anymore.
