Been in a bit of a reading stump these last few months. Usually my goodreads goal is minimum 100 books and I always read more, but 2023 I didnt even make 75. I find a lot of books I see recommended are……. spicy. I dont mind a good spicy read, but occasionally I want to read one without. So here comes the hard part, what I am looking for:
I would like to read a story about how the villain becomes obsessed with the hero/mc. How they try to romance them to their side/show them how the “good” side isnt as good as they try to look. Preferably a fantasy/historical setting.
Another type I could get into is similar to my first point, but like…. reincarnated. I feel corny explaining it like this, but its really the only clear way (I hope) I can explain. Something along the lines of demon king is fighting humans, the mc comes into play, but always feels this weird connection to DL. Turns out they are the reincarnation of the DL love that was killed by humans.
I also would be interested in a setting like the mc is supposed to save everyone, however they were abused and ridiculed by the masses, so they go into the enemies arms. Or they saved the day and then were turned on by the people, but the bad guys come back and they no longer want to be the hero.
IF POSSIBLE, I would love suggestions that are both men, or one is trans (FTM).
I know these are very niche, but I am hoping someone out there might have 1 or 2 suggestions. I will list some of my books that I love down, so that if nothing pops up from the above requests, someone might be able to recommend something else based off that.
