I’m looking for books like Frankenstein, Gideon the Ninth, and The Bone Shard Daughter, where the ability to reassemble bodies or body parts into living (for a given value of life) and sentient (for a given value of sentience) entities is key to the plot. Any genre is welcome, though I understand that this would lean heavily towards scifi/fantasy.
