I have been in love with this book since it’s publication. I re-read it at least once a year, but only this time did I think to look up the author online.
It seems she was a producer for “Perks of being a wall flower” and good friends with Stephen Chbosky. She wrote another book 6 years ago, which was also very good. At one point a “Love Letters” movie was connected to the director of the first twilight, the producers of fault in our stars, and Fox 2000 with Ava Dellaira attached as the screenwriter.
Point being, the author and this book seemed to be pretty popular back in 2014. But now I cannot find anything current about Ava Dellaira at all. She had social media pages linked on her website, but the sites are all dead. The most recent thing was a GoFundMe for her father’s cancer in 2019.
I was originally looking to see if there was a way I could contact the author, to let her know how much this book means to me even a decade after it’s publication. Now I’m just wondering if anyone has any updates on her?
I assume nothing tragic happened to her; I’d probably be able to find news stories in that case. But knowing “Love Letters” deals with some heavy trauma/grief and seeing that she had a parent with a potentially terminal illness, I’m just a little concerned I suppose. This book has meant so, so much to me and it would be reassuring to know it’s creator is okay.
