I’ve really been vibing with retro-futurism, idk why just have been. Maybe it’s because I’m not looking forward to the real future with all the ai and climate issues. Also because some of my own writing is sci-fi, and I’m trying to get a better source of general inspo.

Have read some of the Dune books, and I also own one sci fi book from/printed in the 70’s. It’s called Missing Man by Katherine Maclean. Been looking forward to reading it (don’t have it with me atm), and kinda started my interest in these books. I mean just look up the cover art by Richard Powers, stunning!! found it in an incredible used book store for like 4$ while on vacation, wish I got some more stuff from there when I think about it but it was a very overwhelming place lol, so many books.

I’m cool with any sub-genre, wether its a mystery, action. Always have a preference for horror in general when it comes to books but I can swing any way. The only thing is that I’d like it to be easy to find. I tried my best looking up books in my local library, but there search system is kinda clunk and generally more suited for finding non-fiction or specific titles I believe. They got a good collection though, so I’m sure I could find some stuff.

Overall that’s just a preference, I’ll keep an eye out for anything suggested. Thank you!!!

*Solaris* is great for this. Lots of retrofuturism, a splash of horror, and immensely influential. Popular enough your library might have it but uncommon enough that it might be a novel read for you.
