This book was recommended on an IG reel as L.A. neo-noir and I devoured it in one day. It’s dark, gritty, but also has heart. The plot is simple yet has a couple fun twists and surprises.
I immediately looked to see if the author had other books, but his other book is different and not appealing to me, sadly.
I’m looking for neo-noir thrillers or mysteries set in L.A. (or elsewhere but L.A. is key, it’s really a character in this book) that have a gritty style but aren’t downright cynical.
I’ve already read the Lincoln Lawyer and spinoff series, and already a huge Jonathan Kellerman fan, and am already aware of James Ellroy, etc. Looking more for modern, present-day stuff if possible!
