I’m trying to get back into reading, and I’ve always loved Fantasy, especially High Fantasy. I’m really into magic that uses plants/nature, like using roots and/or vines to entangle people. Don’t really care for magic that involves animals (or talking with them), though I don’t mind if that’s in there too. For example I love dryads and treants. Maybe stereotypical DnD Fae, not quite what I have in mind but maybe close enough. Something taking place in the Feywild or something similar could work.
I’d love a book where a main character uses that kind of magic, or at least it comes up every so often. If an antagonist uses it it’s better than nothing. I’m open to most Fantasy settings, and while I do like some action, I wouldn’t mind something else like political intrigue. I’d actually like it if it got somewhat dark. It would also be great if the protagonist (if there’s only one) was a woman, but it’s not necessary.
