I’m looking for some classic novels that are genuinely page turners and still hold up today in terms of storyline. I’m particularly looking for stories with a lot of tension.
IMO basically every classic that is still read widely holds up, and a lot that are forgotten as well. It just depends on what kind of genres you like. If you like tension, then *Count of Monte Cristo* offers one sort, *Wuthering Heights* offers another.

“Frankenstein” is up there, although over 200 years old now is very readable and full over different emotion and meaning.
