I’ve always liked the Mafia–specifically the Italian-American mafia that sprung up in New York. But the movies I’ve seen and the books I’ve read all seem to focus on someone realizing it’s a horrible way of life and tries to get out… and more often then not they get killed trying. Now, there’s no doubt about the Mafia being a bad thing in real life. But I would like a book that focuses on that life and perhaps indulges in the more fun aspects of it. Something like how Bernard Cornwell does his Last Kingdom series–lots of drama, action and romance, but also some humor in it. Does this mythical book exist, I wonder?
