I have always been into history books but recently I discovered a genre of very thoroughly and well written books on a not so well known part of history, for instance Algiers a Third World Capital or The Great Game in Cuba. Therefore, I am looking for some similar suggestions. Books that shine a light on a less known theater but do not fail to examine it through a good writing style. Thank you I will check out any suggestions.

Perhaps you might like microhistories? Mark Kurlansky has written some very well received books on the history of things like salt or paper.
