Thinking back on movies and books I like, I realized that I love when romantic (or non-romantic) stories end with an ambiguous or happy ending where the main characters do not end up together.
(Especially when they were love interests of each other, but also just in general in cases where a less adventurous author would’ve just shoved the two people into a relationship.)
