Several algorithms have already brought this novel up to me, so I gave in, got it and read it through. It describes a surprisingly unique world, a distant future cyberpunk utopia.
A character who virtually controls a city-state is visited by a world traveler who tells various stories with the help of the souvenirs he carries with him. It is not known how they came to him and how much he believes in their truth, and their interpretation is also left to us, but they are still gripping and interesting.
A search tells us the author is queer, and the text also contains related motifs, but organically and elegantly fitting into the story. Therefore, this novel can also be recommended to those who are bored with the artificial, forced Netflix-inclusivity. The passion for the other girl flares up in the girl character of one story, perfectly well drawn.

    |*Story title*|*What is it about*|*Comments*|*Points out of 10*|
    |:-|:-|:-|:-|
    |A Death Made Manifold|Desert witch, revenge|I liked the fight of the protagonist, the mysterious atmosphere of the text.|8|
    |This Form I Hold Now|Oppression – revolution|I couldn’t read it without stomach cramps, thought-provoking. It’s usually quite difficult to write a sports scene, and I didn’t really succeed here either.|7|
    |The Sky And Everything Under|Politically entangled – in love|The story unfolds in letters, it didn’t really grab me.|4|
    |As Dark As Hunger|Aquatic dystopian fisher world|This is what shocked me the most about the book. It’s about consumption, insensitivity, survival, passion, oblivion and so much more|9|
    |In The Watchful City – frame story|Nature-filled, yet cyberpunk world|The basics of the world is confusing, the story isn’t very interesting or unique, it wouldn’t hold its own.|4|

I don’t think this novel will become a solid classic in the coming years, but it was a good read, fun, and engaging. It provided excellent company for my lunches at the nearby restaurant, helping me break away from the monotony of working days.
