My heart’s been hurt and lonely much more than normally lately and I’ve been trying to rekindle my long-stunted love for reading lmao (reading was forced on me growing up which is why I never liked it. Now that no one’s forcing me into it, I can actually enjoy it.) I have a bunch of classics such as Gatsby and a couple of Dostoevsky books so I want some lighter stuff aka **middle grade books** as the title of this post says.
**✨*****Requirements/Recommendations*****✨**
* Main protagonist is a young child (or it can have a non-child narrator such as the aviator from The Little Prince. Protag can also be in their teens if that even exists).
* Has a magical feel. I wanna have the feeling I’m in another world (not necessarily in a fantasy setting but it would be better if it did)
* Story should have ANY theme of friendship, love, growth and/or some kind of loss (loss does not have to be death per se. But it would be better if the protagonist loses something) (any other themes not here are fine **IF THE AFOREMENTIONED THEMES ARE ALSO FOUND.**)
* Happy endings are recommended but not necessary (if the ending isn’t happy some how, I want it to have some weight in the main character/protagonist.)
✨***Books I’ve already read***✨*You can recommend me books from the same author hehe*
* *The Little Prince* by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (obviously from the title post lololol)
* *The Girl Who Drank The Moon* by Kelly Barnhill
* *Howl’s Moving Castle* by Diana Wynn Jones
* *The Ocean At The End Of The Lane* by Neil Gaiman
* *The Slow Regard of Silent Things* by Patrick Rothfuss
✨***MISC notes***✨
* I have *How Do You Live?* by Genzaburo Yoshino that I plan to read when I finally have time for myself hehe
* I would love hidden gems aka books that aren’t super duper saturated in the market (**\*cough\*** Harry Potter)
This is my first time asking for book reccs so sorry if this seems complicated. Thank you \^\^ 😀 💕💕
