I want to read more literature about the latinx experience but specifically women moving from Latin America to the U.S.
Books that have to do with self-exile, immigration, gender, and even psychological horror really interest me.
I am looking for books that take place in the 21st century and I am having a hard time.

The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao. Not entirely about a woman’s migration, but a central theme and an excellent novel.
I really enjoyed Olga Dies While Dreaming by Xochitl Gonzalez.
Daughter of Fortune (Hija de la Fortuna), by Isabel Allende.
I believe some of Julia Alvarez’s work deals with that theme. How The Garcia Sisters Lost Their Accent might be along the lines of what you’re looking for. It’s not set in the 21st century, though.
