Just finished reading a novel by and author that I discovered a while back named Bentley Little. The book, a copy of which I came across and purchased from a thrift store, is called “The House”.
In this novel we are introduced to five people, complete strangers, who are about to find out that they share a very dark connection. Haunted childhoods and shocking secrets. And a memory of the houses that they had lived in-one eerily identical to the other.
These people, all the way from the west’s remote foothills and sunny suburbia’s green lawns, they are returning to the past. A past fraught with the unimaginable events that they want to forget. A return to the house.
And the journeys that they’re all taking are going to converge with each other into one very terrifying event. A challenge to confront their own nightmares. Or else be forever trapped by them.
Now Bentley Little is an author that hadn’t known about or even heard about before. But I was lucky enough to come across one of his books by sheer chance. “The House” starts off immediately with full force especially in the prologue. That I didn’t really expect, but it did make realize that I was in for an insane ride. The story as goes along goes into some really surreal and outright disturbing moments. If you like stories that are weird and disturbing then this might be one for you, but if you’re put off by you might want to give it a miss.
