I’m considering getting into erotica, basically as a hail Mary to get back into reading. However when I look for erotica books I never see anything which peaks my interest, or that even looks like I’d be able to stand it.

Here’s more or less what I think I’d be into: Erotica, preferably genre erotica (sci-fi, fantasy), but any kind is welcome at this point, where the female protagonist is the one doing the seducing and may be dangerous. Where she **doesn’t** fall for a mysterious/powerful/dark/dashing/noble title holding dude. Preferably she just has a good time and moves on, leaving a trail of destruction behind her is optional but welcome.

If you’ve watched the movie The Lifeguard, with Kristen Bell, or read the book Tampa, by Alyssa Nutting, those are more or less in line with what I’m looking for in non-genre. I am aware that framing Tampa as erotica is kind of like framing American Psycho as romance, but the broad strokes of what I want are there. The female protagonist who’s horny and doesn’t give a fuck about the mess she causes. And at no point is there a possibility she’ll fall in love. I guess Bell’s character in The Lifeguard is less of a monster than Celeste in Tampa, but she’s still fucked up and mostly uses the guy.

Or if you’re familiar with a webcomic called Spying With Lana, or the Lorna comics by Alfonso Azpiri, you’d get a better idea of what I’m looking for in genre. Sexy adventures where the men, or male creatures, are disposable.

The platonic ideal of what I’d love to see is a space adventuring spy who fucks her way through the enemy alien empire purely as a way to bring it down, but has fun along the way, then she flies away in her spacecraft with nothing but hot memories while, behind her, I don’t know, the Death Star explodes or something. Or imagine if Sherezade told a porn story to the Sultan every night, then went to fuck a different one of his men, so by the 1001 night all the Sultan’s men are on her side and she becomes the pornocratic ruler.

Another problem is I don’t want BDSM, I’m not looking for a dominatrix protagonist, at least not overtly so. I’m not into the stylized aesthetic of BDSM. And I would prefer it’s not narrated from a dude’s perspective.
