I have a collection of some thousands of books, presently kept in a temperature controlled garage, and this seems to be working fine.
They are not all from the same place, and some had mildew, which I did my best to identify and remove. But I think I may have a few hiding in amongst the rest.
Rather than holding each book up to my nose to find the remaining ones, is there some kind of moisture meter wand-like instrument I could just tap on each book or wave along a shelf? I had a mold inspector once come into the basement and he had such an instrument he tapped along the floor.
Has anyone used something like this? I saw some devices that might work: Klein Tools ET140, FLIR MR176, Dr.meter MD918, and Protimeter Surveymaster – but they ranged in price considerably and its unclear they would do the trick.
Any experiences would be really helpful as I can’t find much in the way of reviews from my searching so far.
