Hoping it’s ok for me to ask here, I apologise if I’m breaking any rules.

I’ve been writing a book. I’m good at capturing the bigger picture, but I struggle with little details. As a result, I asked someone to be my co-author. I would write out the bigger picture elements (big moments, stuff that builds towards the climax etc), then my co-author would add in worldbuilding and character-development stuff (expanding details etc), I’d proofread and make edits to capture the feel and flow I was going for (not so much I change what was done, but just enough that the characters and images capture what I was going for).

That’s the idea, simplified and maybe not explained well, but the gist of how we work. Of course he’s going to be getting a share of the profits, but I feel we should have something written up. The problem is I have no idea how to write an agreement, I was hoping for some pointers?

To be clear: it’s just two people working on a book, we’re not involved with a publisher or company or anything, in case that makes a difference. We also live in different countries (I’m in the UK, he’s in the US, we’ve been using Google Docs for the novel), which might make a difference.
