I’ve recently gathered interest in learning more about British history, specifically history about the kings and queens that have ruled the nation and how everything came to be. I currently have two books in mind. Powers and Thrones by Dan Jones and The Anglo-Saxons by Marc Morris. I know The Anglo-Saxons is probably more focused towards what I’m looking for, but I’m afraid I’ll be skipping some important context that’s provided in Power and Thrones (which is also around 300 pages longer).
Which one of this two books would you guys recommend and why? It’s also worth noting that I’m not familiar with the authors or their writing style.
Those books were suggestions made by a friend of mine but feel free to recommend any other options
Thanks in advance!
PS: English is not my first language so I apologize for any spelling/redaction mistakes.
