Same story as many people here, I was a huge reader, I’ve read everything that fell under my hand for years, to the points that I really enjoyed “hard” literature like Crime and Punishment and other masterpieces.
Then, the Internet, being a teenager, having less time, etc… I stopped reading about ten years ago.
Now, struggling with doom scrolling and more generally screens dependency, I’m trying to quit it and focus again on things that actually gave me some enjoyment back then.
I’ve picked up reading a few days ago, and I noticed that my focusing capability is just not what it was, I can’t concentrate for more than 10min without not being able to understand what I’m reading anymore, and I don’t understand why, when I’m on the Internet, I read countless scientific articles, news articles, debates, etc… Without problem…
Do you guys have tips on how I can help myself focusing for longer periods? I’ve tried reading “easier” material, like comics and mangas, but nothing helps…
