I read Shogun by James Clavell a few years back and I remember it having made an impression on me. I’m trying to find a novel that is similar in terms of: great plot, semi-fictional/historical events, a lot of knowledge on different cultures, and above all entertaining.
The description is a bit vague and I think I’m chasing a feeling rather than something concrete. But I hope I can get a few ideas anyways.
