I had a calvin and hobbes book that was probably 20 years old. It got waterlogged so it was thrown in the garage.
it spent at least 10 years there, and the pages have never yellowed at all. they look as fresh and crisp as if the book were new..
in contrast, many books I’ve bought have yellowed. Even the very nice hardcover book “rise and fall of the third reich” has been yellowing, albeit slightly unevenly due to one side being more exposed to light and dust.
Basically, you can slow down yellowing, but if the pages are made with shit paper you cant stop it.
Unfortunate for all those vintage mass market paperbacks in the world with cool artwork, but thats ow it is.
