After receiving novel in a gift exchange, I had found myself revisiting a book I had previously listened to in audio format.
When listening to audiobook, the cringey dialogue and jarring voice of the narrator really threw me off and I considered it to be one of my worst reads (listens?) of 2023. I’m now only a few chapters in to my physical copy but on paper the prose is beautiful and I’m completely captivated.
I don’t usually gravitate towards audiobooks but I’m now concerned that I’ve judged other listens unfairly in the past. Has anyone else had a similar experience?
