I’ve read most of Hemingways work including his novels and short stories. I prefer the short stories but i also do love the novels. FWTBT is next on the list. I’ve had to start it over a few times for one reason or another. Some of the time it’s just too much new info too quickly. Sometimes the Spanish confuses me.
I was curious what you guys could tell me so that I could enjoy the book properly. Themes? Foreshadowing? Historical information? Autobiographical information? How does it stack up to his other work?
I really want to appreciate this one but the Spanish Civil War is a massive historical and literary blindspot for me.
