As this says I am getting more into romance books but as a reader that first came from high fantasy/ sci fi it is really hard for me to love a book if it has plot holes. I couldn’t really enjoy ACOTAR for this reason.

What are fantasy, Sci fi, or dystopian romance books (essentially anything that has some sort of adventure/danger not like a real life situation) that has an amazing plot and an amazing romance story?

Please please please read the Red Rising series by Pierce Brown. It takes a bit to get to the best parts but it is soooo good!! Even better if you listen to audiobooks because the narrator is incredible.

    2. I just finished Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. It was sooooooo good. Prior to that I had finished A Court Of Silver Flames and was completely over the superfluous sex. The characters in Fourth Wing start as adults instead of teens (yay!). There are a few spicy scenes, but they’re past the halfway point and are not the main driving force of the book. This book is very plot driven and I don’t know how I’m going to wait for the second book to come out. 😬

How about a sci-fi dark fantasy that may hint towards love but isn’t? MC doesn’t know what the word love is

    4. I enjoyed Daughter of the Flower Moon and Nettle and Bone. First one has more romance, neither is very spicy.

Ilona Andrews has excellent world-building and romance plotlines. Their Kate Daniels series is a long PNR/urban fantasy series with a significant romance plotline. Their Hidden Legacy series is another urban fantasy series with a 50/50 fantasy/romance plot.

    6. The Grace Year by Kim Liggett. You really should check it out! It has an amazing rating and brought me back into reading after having a reading slump for several years.

I have read it on my phone, and an considering buying the paperback for my bookshelf.
