Hello everyone, I’ve decided to return to my passion for reading after several years. Throughout my reading journey I think it’s a great idea to share my personal insights and opinions as an average reader on the books, novels, and plays I dive into.

Starting off with “Hatchet”, to the best of my recollection, it is an extraordinary book, particularly because it played an important role in introducing me to literature. The suspense, vivid imagery, and the character’s thoughts and actions painted a vivid movie in my mind. I used to find books rather boring, but “Hatchet” always left me eagerly anticipating the next chapter. What truly surprised me at the time was the twist involving Brian’s realization to eating the deceased and submerged pilot through the fish he caught.

In summary, this book served as an outstanding starting point for me. It was easy to grasp, far from boring, and the constant suspense and uncertainty about what would happen next was truly addicting. I’d rate it a solid 9/10, however it’s worth noting that it’s been six years since my last reading, so I’m eagerly looking forward to revisiting it soon.

I first read Hatchet at around 9-years old; just recently, 35 years later, I introduced my 9-year old son to the story. He was entranced as I was; I have a feeling it will be for him, as it is for me still, a regular reread.
