I teach middle and high schoolers and all my students love Vashti Harrison’s collection Little Leaders and Little Legends. They are easy-to-read, illustrated biographies of historical figures that sum up their lives and accomplishments in 3-4 paragraphs. I use them to quickly introduce important people they might be interested in researching further. Does anybody know of other illustrated biography collections that could easily introduce them to important people? Thank you!

For anyone looking in the future, I found a couple in the History & Biography kids section at Barnes & Noble. Young, Gifted, and Black by Jamia Wilson and Andrea Pippins; and Rise Up: Ordinary Kids with Extraordinary Stories by Amanda Li and Amy Blackwell.
