Looking for a recommendation for a book centered on non-biological father-son relationship. let me explain
I recently read Stephen King’s The Dark Tower series, and apart from the pattenistic plot, I especially enjoyed the relationship between Roland and Jake, the gunslinger and the boy from the other world who become like family. In addition, I read Parting Shot by Linwood Barclay and although it had a biological father and son relationship, I enjoyed much more the relationship between Cal and Jeremy, the researcher and the boy he is required to protect. Jeremy came from a dysfunctional family and Cal lost his wife and son, throughout the plot the two grow closer and begin to see in each other what they lack, until at the end of the story Cal even offers Jeremy to come live with him.
I’ve come across and read quite a few books about father-daughter relationships, biological or not, and that’s not what I’m looking for right now. But I would appreciate recommendations on “father and son” relationships in any possible genre, especially thriller.
