I find when people are unexpectedly drawn together in subversive or new ways to be an interesting journey! I’m thinking of books like The Road by McCarthy, Station Eleven, or even Dune where what the reader might consider normal group practices have failed and new tribes/methods start to emerge as alternatives. Circumstances are forcing groups to rethink alliances, adopt new habits of behavior, or start doing weird sh\*t to maintain existence.
These recs don’t have to be fantasy or sci-fi…just books exploring unconventional tribes and practices in a literary minded, thought provoking fashion. Thanks for your ideas 🙂
