I haven’t read a book for a while now and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo was the first book I opened in years. I know it has mixed reviews but I could not put that book down and I finished it in a day. It left me with a sense of grief and loss and longing. I’m well into a 5 year relationship with my partner. We are both women and it feels more like a companionship. Reading the book made me realize I want to feel and long for someone the way Evelyn loved Celia. I think I settled with someone because it felt safe and less lonely.
