Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune
The scenes with Cameron telling his backstory wrecks me every time.
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah. It tells the story of two sisters in WWII France, and their struggles, sacrifices, and bravery. The bond between the sisters and the heart-wrenching moments throughout the book make it impossible not to cry while reading.
First They Killed My Father
Such a brutal and powerful memoir about the Cambodian genocide. It wrecked me. Strongly recommend.
