I really don’t know if that was the objective or I misunderstood a lot of things (adjusting to the writing style).

1 So Signes and Ales went through the same thing? But I though Asle died for Ales, yet in the end she was with a boy and apparently Ales for Signes was waiting for her in bed.

2 The whole point was this jumping and parallel between both stories? I had a difficult time understanding if they were talking about Ales or Signes, but maybe that was intended.

3 What is up with the fire done with the boat pieces? I thought the fire was done with wood of the boat that was long gone, yet Signes saw the fire done moments after her husband dissappeared.

4 I feel like this book relates a lot to the loss of a person and this depressive state of mind of losing track of time and space. I found it brilliant on the beginning the narration of her thoughts.

5 In portuguese the title is somewhat close to She is Ales, while in English is Aliss at the fire, is the fire somewhat a symbol?

    Thanks! I enjoyed so much
