9 months ago I made a thread (Never read a book but it won’t let me link it) on here asking for book recommendations because I had never read a book before as I only learned to read as an adult. I got loads of suggestions so thanks so much it meant alot.

I read all the hunger games books including the new ballad of snakes and songbirds. I really like the 3 main books and it definitely helped that I watched the movies first because the descriptions were hard to remember sometimes. I had an audiobook for the first one and the third one but I read the second (catching fire) without and that was my favourite of them. I read ballad of snakes and songsbirds before the movie and that was very different because I didn’t know about the characters and they didn’t have a face in my head. So I found it a bit harder to remember the characters and what the scenes look like. It definitely took me much longer but I really enjoyed it trying to imagine what things look like only from words. Then when the movie came out it was cool to see how the same or different the actors and sets were from my imagination.

I think that not seeing a movie before reading means I’m not waiting for things to happen. I like that and it makes me skip less of the descriptions. So I was gonna read Harry potter next but I’ve already seen the movies.

I’m thinking about joining a book club. Reading has been good for me to use freetime in good ways that I wouldn’t have before. But I’m also am social so I’m thinking about joining a book club. They are right now reading “what belongs to you” buy Gareth greenwell. Next they want to read breaking free by cory Allen, the shard by Brett Easton Ellis and Kafka on the shore by huraki Murakami. I don’t think I’m good enough to read those books. I don’t want people to think I’m dumb at the book club so I might not join but do you think I could? Or would I be out of place?
What books should I read before? They have a list of books they’ve already read as book club. A little life by Hanya Yanagihara The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Díaz I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou, Americanah: A novel by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

Basically what Im asking is should I join this book club? If yes what should I read before? If no what should I read next by myself?
