    1. Cat’s Cradle – Kurt Vonnegut

It’s a great book, and every “chapter” is at most 5 pages. That’ll keep you invested but also allow you to stop at any given time.

If you’ve never read anything before and you want something that will keep you hooked and serve as a gateway into a love of reading then I can’t think of anything better than Harry Potter tbh.

    3. If you’ve never read in your life I don’t think someone else’s 10/10 is going to change that. What if you don’t like it? Will you never try again? Say “books are boring”? That’s a lot of pressure to put on someone else’s subjective opinion! Reading is not about finding the best of the best and only reading those, you need to try things for yourself. Some books you read will be bad, some will be great, it takes a bit of patience. What’s the reason you’ve never read in your life, what have you been prioritising instead? Probably worth thinking about as you embark on your reading journey!

    4. Someone else said Harry Potter which I am sure will get downvoted for either being childish or politics.

However, I think it’s a great first start. It’s a quick, relatable story. It’s easy to follow with not too many characters or complex pot, tike jumps etc.

I think diving into to a complex book first can be overwhelming. First book I think should be easy and maybe something you dont care about too much.

You kind of learn to focus and clear distractions when starting reading. That process can be a be a bit bumpy starting out.

Starting with John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men, then progressing to books like Harry Potter, Lolita, and Moby Dick is a great way to gradually increase reading difficulty.

    6. The best way to get hooked on reading is short stories. You can try The Witcher series if you’re familiar with the games,
