My girlfriend said she would give recreational reading a shot if I recommend her a book, which is great! She has not read a book by choice before, so her only experience has been what was assigned by our less-than-stellar school system. I have no idea what to suggest to her as we have different tastes in fiction and she didn’t seem very interested in what I have been reading. From her movie habits she is mostly interested in:
\-Drama
\-Romance
\-Wholesome, heartwarming stories
\-Realism over fantasy (a little fantasy is OK)
\-Occupational fiction (Grey’s Anatomy type stuff)
\-Light-hearted, witty dialogue over philosophical or ideological discussions.

I know this is a complete smorgasbord of vague leads, but I really want her first book to be enjoyable and maybe we can start reading it together 🙂
