Sometimes I take a second to appreciate just how much of a sensation Stephen King has been in horror literature. People may disagree on whether or not the moniker “King of Horror” is well-deserved, but no one can deny that it’s an apt description. It’s remarkable that one person can be responsible for half of the most well-known titles in an entire genre, and I’m curious to know whether there are other writers who have dominated a whole field of literature in a similar manner.
Side note: I know there’s a lot of overlap in genres so if there are examples where “sub-genre” or “category” feels more appropriate that’s cool too
