I love a story featuring an isolated character and their meager and/or cherished possessions. Not sure why, maybe because they’re very intimate stories and are usually interesting circumstances. Some examples off the top of my head, The Slow Regard of Silent Things, My Side of the Mountain (haven’t read it since elementary school and could not tell you a thing about it, but the description of the house carved out of the tree and the things inside has stuck with me for this reason), The Little Mermaid (just an example of the type of character). Clearly not a huge list, I wish I came across it more.
Anyone have any suggestions for this type of story? Thank you! I look forward to meeting new characters and the things they keep.
