Does anyone have any suggestions for books with melancholic prose? Especially if it’s written in a first person retrospective point of view where the narrator is reflecting on their life from some point in the future.
Books like this I’ve read recently and loved are Never Let Me Go, Remains of the Day, The Secret History, The Goldfinch, and No Longer Human. I also really enjoyed A Little Life, On Earth We’re Briefly Gorgeous and The Great Gatsby. I’m currently reading Norwegian Wood and looking for books to read after I finish that one. Thanks everyone!
