I started reading a book hours ago, and I think I’m a quarter done. Here’s the issue: the book contains A LOT of British slang, and as a non-native speaker of the said language, it irks me that I have to search every slang I encountered. I tried using context clues but it didn’t work. Considering the significant hindrance to my enjoyment and understanding, should I mark the book ‘DNF’ and stop reading? 😔
