I’m looking for some book ideas to gift someone. He typically likes books that are spy thrillers, so I’m thinking something in that realm would be best. It needs to be something gripping and distracting, as he’ll be reading while waiting for someone to come out of surgery. Something that is narrative or historical fiction might work, but I’m not sure about his preferences within that.
Books that have underlying messages (but not outright discussions since that pulls away from the story) that are about equality, anti-fascist, antiauthoritarianism, or far would be preferred.
