Looking for a good suspenseful recommendation in spirit of Halloween! I read a lot of mysteries/thrillers, but I get the creeps really easily if I go too far into horror territory. Just looking for something creepy but not SO creepy that it’s going to keep me up at night lol
I’m a 27F for reference, but I’m also a mom of two small humans so I don’t want to be scared to walk through my house to check on my kids in the middle of the night either 🤣

Our Wives Under The Sea by Julia Armfield isn’t scary but creates a really unsettling atmosphere. It’s like the book equivalent of those horror movies where there’s no gore, no jump scares but you just feel uneasy the whole time because you know somethings wrong but you can’t put your finger on what it is.
